In Hong Kong, there is a large scale Chinese New Year Fireworks Show over Victoria Harbour on the second day of the Chinese New Year every year. In 2009, this was performed at 8 p.m. on 27 Jan 2009. The fireworks were ejected from three ships parked in the center of Victoria Harbour. This is a photo of one shot of the fireworks show.
Moreover, I share with you here a video of the fireworks show. The background music is provided by the organizing authority and are Cantonese songs giving Chinese New Year greetings. If you look carefully, you can see some images formed by the bursting of the fireworks in the air. I can identify the following images:
- number “8″ from 28th second onwards (meaning “Getting Rich” in cantonese)
- Chinese Word “牛” from 41st second onwards (meaning “Ox” to celebrate 2009, the year of the Ox)
If you can find some more others, please leave a comment to share with me and others. Thanks!
