Hello Kitty in Mount Lavinia Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka

After visitng the Holy Temple of the Tooth Relic, I return to Colombo, the capital town of Sri Lanka. The Town Hall of Colombo is a neo-classical building, built in 1927 with reference to the White House of the United States. Consequently, it also has a name of “Miniature White House”.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of the city of Colombo, I come across a temple in the lake. This temple is located on three island podiums on Beira Lake and is called Seema Malaka. The lake is surrounded by old fine trees which provides welcoming breezes throughout the day and the temple is accessed through a bridge-like walkway.
Whereas most Buddha temples in Sri Lanka follow strict traditional design, Seema Malaka is inspired by the ancient forest monasteries which feature similar raised platforms linked by walkways. The overhanging blue tiled roofs together with the avenue of Buddha statues create a peaceful elegance within the busy capital and is a good place for meditation.
For my last night in Sri Lanka, I stay in the Mount Lavinia Hotel. This hotel is a legacy of Sri Lanka’s Colonial Heritage and it stands as a monument to the forbidden love of a British Governor General and a local mestizo dancer who cast a spell on his heart. What a romantic story!
With its romantic history, Mount Lavinia Hotel is located on a stunning promontory overlooking the Indian Ocean. The hotel, with its white columns, polished wooden floors, intricately carved wood ceiling and wide windows open to the ocean breezes, is a popular beach resort for lovers.
I like to sit on the beach and enjoy the beautiful sunset in this lovely place. Birds gather together to fly around in this romantic beach and it is a really relaxing experience.
As it gets dark, I enjoy my dinner besides the swimming pool of the hotel. This wonderful experience puts an end to my trip in Sri Lanka, a place full of contrasts and surprises! Me~~ow!

I can surely see the nod to the White House design in the USA!
I found it a point of note that all the buildings were white…I would imagine that is a great deal of design attributes to keep the interiors cool?
Finally, I agree with your first commenter …Splendid!
